Watch: Becky & Jake | A Maven Visuals Wedding Film
What if your wedding was one massive party from start to finish?
Because that’s exactly what Becky & Jake achieved at Priory Cottages - a secluded collection of private cottages for hire in Wetherby.
Fortunately this iconic wedding also had Maven Visuals Wedding Films along to document it all in a wedding film, so we could share the best wedding moments with you.
Here are our 5 favourite moments from their wedding film that prove ravers make the coolest weddings.
Moment 1/5: When the Bridal Prep vibes were on point.
There’s only a couple of things that can go wrong in bridal prep.
Either (a) the bridal suite looks horrible, because the curtains are closed and it's a dark, dingy & messy room etc. Or (b) everyone is super nervous, stressed out and the vibes are generally off.
Beckys bridal prep had neither. Firstly, because Priory Cottages are a super tucked away private estate with 7 rentable cottages surrounding a beautiful courtyard away from anything and anyone.
This meant that the wedding photos and wedding videos looked great, and nobody had to shut any curtains even though both the bride & groom were literally already at the ceremony location, thanks to the fact they could just take different cottages either side of the courtyard.
Secondly, Becky & Jake are both the type of people who find it almost impossible to have a bad time, and they’ve built up a collection of friends who are exactly the same. So needless to say the bridal prep wasn’t the usual nervous & tense affair… It was a chill morning hanging out with pals.
Moment 2/5: The amount of ENERGY in the Ceremony!
This was around the time I worked out that the wedding party in the evening was going to be wild.
After a beautiful moment where Jake sees Becky coming down the aisle with her father for the first time, they exchange beautiful personal vows (which unfortunately is becoming less and less of a trend these days).
Once the marriage was settled, they signed the marriage documents and had one of the best drum & bass themed walk-outs I’ve ever seen. Complete with your classic D&B gunfingers. Outstanding.
Moment 3/5: When Priory Cottages had the best Wedding Confetti set-up in England.
I’m going to make the claim on behalf of Priory Cottages, because I think they’re too humble about their confetti set-up.
Priory Cottages personalise the backdrop with the couples name (in this case, Mr & Mrs Burdass) and have everybody line up around the second floor decking with literally buckets of confetti.
If you’ve spent any time on my wedding videography website, you’ll have seen some of these shots.
Not only are there buckets of confetti… but it’s the good stuff. Big, bold white petals that show up easily on camera… none of that dust nonsense for the best confetti set-up in England.
Then it’s just a case of counting in 3, 2, 1, and the magic happens.
If you’re getting married at Priory Cottages, you are GUARANTEED to have an iconic confetti shot.
Moment 4/5: When we Theresa May’d in the Wheatfields.
Best thing about a summer wedding in peak wedding season? The wheat is up… and Priory Cottages isn’t worried about a wheat shortage.
A 30 second walk from where the action was saw us in an expansive landscape of pure wheat for us to have fun in.
Plus, there were tracks already cut into the wheat for us, so we didn’t have to destroy any crops and catch a criminal case. It also meant that any bride getting married at Priory Cottages would be absolutely fine to walk through and get these shots without stumbling over or getting filthy.
Moment 5/5: When the Wedding Party was literally organised by a Groom who was a professional in the Events & Nightlife space.
Just look at those speakers.
I’m not a big raver at all. At 26 years of age, I have already long declared my retirement from the nightclub scene. I’m too busy being a wedding videographer on my Fridays and Saturdays, and frankly I wouldn’t have it any other way.
But even I was impressed by the size of these monsters.
As you might be able to see on the poster on the side of the speakers in the photo below - Becky & Jake organised the evening portion of their wedding exactly like a nightclub event. Complete with various talented DJ’s, bands and other artists that Jake knew from his line of work.
If his events under his company BASSline are even half as good as his wedding turned out, then he’s a certified event wizard.
So, feel free to jump in the conversation!
Which one of these moments were your favourite? Have any made you want to plan your wedding differently?
